Project duration depends on whether the home is existing or new, how much construction is needed, the selected elevator system, equipment availability, permit review, trade scheduling, and finish work.
The schedule has several phases
Most projects move through design and site review, product selection, approvals, site preparation, elevator installation, testing, and final finish work. Some phases can overlap; others depend on the previous work being complete.
Retrofits usually need more coordination
Existing homes may require exploratory work, demolition, framing, relocated utilities, or repair around new openings. These variables can make the construction portion less predictable than a project designed into new construction.
Plan backward from important dates
If the elevator is needed before a move, surgery recovery, family transition, or construction completion, raise that timing early. A realistic schedule should include contingencies rather than assume every step happens immediately.
