Measure the actual mobility setup
Wheelchairs and other mobility devices vary. Planning should account for the actual user, device dimensions, footrests, controls, and whether a caregiver may ride along.
Evaluate doors and landings
Door width, door orientation, approach space, and maneuvering room at each stop can determine whether an installation works comfortably in daily life. The elevator must connect to usable routes on every served floor.
Think about power chairs and changing needs
Power wheelchairs can have different dimensions and turning needs than manual chairs. If long-term accessibility is the goal, consider likely future equipment rather than designing to the narrowest current requirement.
